Routes from Matsuyama Kanko Port to Dogo Onsen (Takahama Line, Shuttle Bus and Taxi)

From Matsuyama Kanko Port to Dogo Onsen, take the shuttle bus to Takahama Station and transfer to the Iyotetsu Takahama Line and city tram, or take a taxi. The train route takes about 43 minutes; a taxi takes about 27 minutes and costs about 3,390 yen. The limousine bus has only 1 departure, at 22:22, and it ends at Matsuyama-shi Station.

The taxi time and fare are from a Matsuyama City tourism pamphlet (July 2024) and are estimates calculated from travel distance. They do not include time stopped at signals or in traffic.

“Matsuyama Port” and “Matsuyama Kanko Port”

According to Ehime Prefecture, “Matsuyama Port” is the name of a prefecture-managed port that includes the Takahama, Mitsuhama Inner Harbor, Outer Harbor, Imade and Yoshidahama areas. Ships from Hiroshima and Kure arrive at the Matsuyama Kanko Port terminal, located at Takahama-cho 5-chome. Mitsuhama Port is in a different location, so if a search result says “Matsuyama Port,” check the shipping company's information to confirm which port your ship will arrive at.

The Matsuyama Kanko Port Limousine Bus Is Suspended for Now (Only the 22:22 Departure from the Port)

In the Iyotetsu timetable (revised 2026-10-16), the only service listed is the 22:22 departure from Matsuyama Kanko Port, which meets the ferry from Hiroshima (arriving 22:12). It passes JR Matsuyama Station Front at 22:42 and Ehime Shimbunsha-mae at 22:44, then arrives at Matsuyama-shi Station at 22:50. The timetable states that services other than the above, including buses bound for Kanko Port, are suspended for the time being, and that departure times may change slightly to match ship arrivals.

The fare is 1,080 yen from Matsuyama Kanko Port to Matsuyama-shi Station or Ehime Shimbunsha-mae (1,060 yen cashless), and 980 yen to JR Matsuyama Station Front (960 yen cashless). At Matsuyama-shi Station, transfer to city tram No. 3 bound for Dogo Onsen. Reservations are not possible, and passengers cannot board or get off at intermediate stops; the only boarding point is Matsuyama Kanko Port.

Via Takahama Station (Shuttle Bus, Takahama Line and City Tram)

Take the Kanko Port shuttle bus from Matsuyama Kanko Port to Takahama Station Front. The ride takes about 2 minutes.
Take the Iyotetsu Takahama Line to the terminus, Matsuyama-shi Station. It takes about 21 minutes from Takahama Station and costs 520 yen for adults.
At Matsuyama-shi Station, take city tram No. 3 (Matsuyama-shi Station Line) bound for Dogo Onsen. It takes about 20 minutes, and the flat adult fare is 250 yen (230 yen cashless), paid when you get off.

According to the timetable (revised 2026-10-16), shuttle buses leave Matsuyama Kanko Port from 6:50 to 21:28, and during the day they run “every 15 minutes during this period.” On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, trains departing Takahama Station are sparse until the 8 o'clock hour, and some shuttle buses do not connect with trains. You do not take a numbered ticket when boarding the shuttle bus.

Taxi: Fares and Approximate Travel Times

According to the Matsuyama City tourism pamphlet (July 2024), a taxi takes about 27 minutes and costs about 3,390 yen. The fare is an estimate based on travel distance, and the travel time varies with road conditions.

Combining Ship Arrival Times with Trains and Taxis

According to the timetable, the shuttle bus leaving Kanko Port at 21:28 arrives at Takahama Station Front at 21:30, and the train leaving Takahama Station at 22:00 arrives at Matsuyama-shi Station at 22:21. If your ship arrives later than that, take the 22:22 limousine bus or a taxi.

The ALL SHIKOKU Rail Pass cannot be used on Iyotetsu. Pay the Takahama Line and city tram fares separately.

When You Have Large Luggage

On the limousine bus, you load and unload luggage into the luggage compartment yourself. On trains and buses, place luggage on the luggage rack or on your lap.
