- Starbucks Coffee (inside the station building)
The gateway to a historic hot spring district. The station building itself features Western-style architecture from the Meiji era and is also a popular photo spot. The main ways to travel from here are by tram and limousine bus, but there is one major trap: only buses bound for Imabari and the Shimanami area depart from a different stop.
Boarding Information
- Platform inside the station: City trams and the Botchan Train.
- Roundabout in front of the station: Airport limousine bus, tourist port limousine bus, and local buses.
- [Caution] Koen Kitaguchi bus stop: Limited express buses bound for Imabari and the Shimanami Kaido (a 5-minute walk south from the station).
Choosing a Tram Route
- Route 3 (City Station Line): Shown in red. Take this route for Matsuyama City Station or Okaido (Matsuyama Castle).
- Route 5 (JR Line): Shown in blue. Take this route to return to Matsuyama Station (JR).
Additional Information
The Botchan Train operates only on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Reservations are not available, and boarding is managed with numbered tickets, so it is best not to rely on it as a guaranteed means of transportation and simply enjoy the ride if you are able to board.
