Matsuyama Station (JR)

At this hub

  • 1F: Ticket gates and ticket office (Midori-no-Madoguchi)
  • Dandan-dori (commercial facilities and restaurants)
  • Bus roundabout (Stop 1: tourist port / Stop 5: airport)
  • Tram stop (in the station plaza)

This station is the western gateway to Shikoku and a hub for overland travel from outside the prefecture (including Okayama, Takamatsu, and Uwajima). Following the elevation of the railway tracks in 2024, redevelopment of the station plaza has now been completed. The tram stop has been relocated very close to the station building, making transfers considerably more convenient.

Boarding Information (Buses)

Stops are strictly separated by destination.

  • Stop 5: Matsuyama Airport limousine bus and local buses.
  • Stop 1: Matsuyama Tourist Port limousine bus and buses to the Driver's License Center.
  • Stop 2: Buses to Dogo Onsen and Matsuyama City Station.
  • Stop 3: Some highway buses and the Niihama limited express bus.

Boarding Information (Trams)

The tram stop is in the access plaza directly in front of you as you exit the station building.

  • Route 5: Direct service to Dogo Onsen (via the southern route and Okaido).
  • Route 1 (Loop Line): Use this route when traveling to Matsuyama City Station or toward the university area.

Additional Information

Matsuyama Station (JR) and Matsuyama City Station serve different roles (Matsuyama Station (JR) is the hub for long-distance travel outside the prefecture, while Matsuyama City Station is the hub for travel within the prefecture and city). Car rental offices are located at various points around the station.
