Ishitegawa Green Space (Iwazeki Bridge Area)
An area defined by Iwazeki-bashi, a red suspension bridge completed in the Taisho era. You can enjoy strolling and photography with the murmur of the river as background.
Ishitegawa Green Space (Iwazekibashi Area) is a green space along the Ishite River, which flows through Ishite, Matsuyama City.
About Iwazeki
The Ishite River is a tributary of the Shigenobu River system and flows through the eastern part of Matsuyama City. It is said that the Ishite River originally flowed near the center of the Matsuyama Plain, but in the Edo period, Shigenobu Adachi, a retainer acting under the orders of Yoshiaki Kato, carried out renovations. It is passed down that he broke the rocks blocking the flow at "Iwazeki" near Ishiteji Temple to divert the course to the southwest, creating the current riverbed. This diversion made it possible to secure rice fields in the surrounding area.
As a Green Space
Parks are developed along many of the banks of the Ishite River, and since it is close to the urban area, it is popular as a place for citizens to relax and engage in sports activities.

A neighborhood park with fine views set within a residential area. The cherry blossoms are beautiful in spring, and it has a combined play structure with a swing, seesaw, and slide.
Iwaidani 1-chome Park
A small park ideal for a baby's or toddler's first park outing. It has a sandpit edged with urethane and spring-mounted playground rides shaped like a chick and a rabbit.
KKR Dogo Yuzuki

A mechanical clock in Hojoen plaza in front of Dogo Onsen Station. Installed in 1994 to mark the 100th anniversary of the main building of Dogo Onsen, characters from the novel Botchan appear on the hour. A free foot bath sits beside it.
