Dogo no Machiya
A cafe in a traditional wooden townhouse on Dogo Haikara-dori. It is known for making use of a building from the Taisho era.
"Dogo no Machiya" is a cafe in a renovated traditional house located on Dogo Haikara-dori Street (Dogo Shopping Street). According to the official website and regional information magazines, the shop utilizes a post office building constructed in the Taisho period (1912–1926) and serves hamburgers, sweets, drinks, and other items. With a calm space featuring a courtyard, it has been popular as a resting place between strolls around Dogo Onsen and hot spring visits.
It is reported that the cafe temporarily closed in 2024 for renovation work including seismic reinforcement, and subsequently reopened after remodeling. It is one of the long-operating traditional house cafes where visitors can enjoy meals and sweets in the atmosphere of a historic building. As business hours, regular holidays, and menus may change, please check official information before visiting. The address is 14-26 Dogo Yunomachi, Matsuyama City.
