Myosei-ji Temple

A temple in Yamada-machi, Matsuyama. Its grounds are open for free worship, and it is known as a temple rooted in the local community.

Myoseiji is a temple of the Nichiren sect located in Yamadacho Otsu, Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.

Overview

The honorary mountain prefix (sango) is Jueizan, and its former head temple is Ryuhon-ji in Kyoto.

Grave of Yanagihara Kyokudo

Within the precincts is the grave of the haiku poet Yanagihara Kyokudo. Yanagihara Kyokudo was from Matsuyama and is known as a person who had a close relationship with Masaoka Shiki and was involved in the publication of a haiku magazine.
