Dogo Tempura Goten Honten

This is the shop opened in Dogo by "Tempura Goten," which has been operating since September 2019 in the Matsuchika Town underground shopping center at Matsuyama City Station. Its name is "Dogo Tempura Goten Honten (Main Shop)", which a local contributor reported on site in October 2026 as the official name. Tabelog, an Ehime Living Shimbun listing and a blog article use the same name; with the Dogo opening the name changed, and the Matsuchika Town shop is introduced as the "Matsuchika shop". The display name of the operator's Instagram account (@goten_tempura) is also "Dogo Tempura Goten". However, as of October 13, 2026, the shop's own website (tempura-goten.com) lists only the Matsuchika Town shop and has no page for the Dogo shop.
The shop in Matsuchika Town is known for its style where chefs fry tempura one by one over the counter and serve them freshly fried, with free refills of rice and all-you-can-eat of five kinds of rice sides including spicy cod roe. While there are many Japanese restaurants and street food shops around Dogo, there are few shops that serve freshly fried tempura at a counter, and it is introduced as a shop suitable for both tourists and local customers. The address is 20-13 Dogo Yunomachi, which is a 4-minute walk from Dogo Onsen Station on the Iyo Railway city tram and a 4-minute walk from Dogo Onsen Ekimae on the Iyotetsu Bus. The same building also houses "Dogo BEER BAR" (formerly Dogo Bakushukan), a directly managed taproom of Minakuchi Shuzo. Since the shop has just recently opened, the menu, business hours, and regular holidays are subject to change.
