Ura Dogo

"Ura-Dogo" is a public amusement hall located in Dogoyuzuki-cho, Matsuyama City. It opened in November 2023 and is located approximately a 2-minute walk from Dogo Onsen Honkan. In a neo-retro space decorated with lanterns and paper lanterns, you can enjoy target shooting unique to a hot spring town and "local gacha" that can only be obtained at this facility. In addition, it has an attached takeout cafe that serves drinks and "bussashi jelly ice cream" which became a hot topic on SNS. The ability to play not only during the day but also under the light of paper lanterns lit after dark has attracted popularity, and it is in a location that is easy to stop by while strolling around Dogo Onsen Honkan and Haikara-dori. Hogon-ji Temple
A temple in Dogo said to be the birthplace of Ippen, founder of the Ji sect of Buddhism. The main hall was lost to fire in 2013 but was rebuilt in 2016.
Kawahigashi Hekigoto Haiku Monument (Dogo Park)
A haiku monument within Kawahigashi Hekigoto Kuhi Dogo Koen. It commemorates Kawahigashi Hekigoto (1873–1937), a poet from Matsuyama. Hekigoto was a disciple of Masaoka Shiki and known as an innovator who promoted the New Tendency haiku.
Masaoka Shiki Haiku Monument
Located within Dogo Park, near the Masaoka Shiki Memorial Museum. This haiku monument commemorates Masaoka Shiki (1867–1902), a poet from Matsuyama. Shiki led a movement to innovate haiku in the newspaper 'Nippon'.
Matsuyama Municipal Shiki Memorial Museum
A museum on the life and work of Masaoka Shiki, the haiku poet born in Matsuyama, next to Dogo Park. Exhibits include a partial reconstruction of Gudabutsuan, the house where Shiki lived with the novelist Natsume Soseki, along with materials on Shiki, the Masaoka family and Matsuyama's literary history.
Matsuyama Kanko Rinji Parking
A temporary parking area with approximately 60 free spaces, open only on designated days during busy periods.
Mustakivi gallery&
A gallery and shop by textile and ceramics artist Ishimoto Too. It handles original works such as Tobe ware and tenugui.
