Dogo Haikara-dori (Dogo Shopping Street)
An arcade shopping street of about 250 meters connecting Dogo Onsen Station and Dogo Onsen Honkan. Lined with souvenir shops and restaurants, you can walk here in a yukata.
An arcade shopping street with a total length of approximately 250 meters that connects Iyo Railway's Dogo Onsen Station and Dogo Onsen Honkan. Officially named Dogo Shopping Street, it is commonly referred to by its nickname, "Haikara-dori." It is operated by the Dogo Shopping Street Promotion Association (15-23 Dogo Yunomachi, Matsuyama City).
Souvenir shops and restaurants closely line both sides of the street. There are shops selling sweets and drinks made with Ehime mandarins, local crafts such as Iyo Kasuri and Tobe yaki, and famous local confections like Botchan dango and Ichiroku Tart, as well as many establishments geared toward eating while walking. Covered by an arcade, visitors can walk from Dogo Onsen Station to the Honkan without getting wet, even on rainy days.
The character of this shopping street allows visitors to drop by wearing yukata and geta, and many people shop and eat here while wearing yukata provided by their lodgings after taking a bath at the public hot springs. At the exit on the Honkan side of the street are Hojoen and the Botchan Karakuri Clock, while the entrance on the Dogo Onsen Station side faces the stopping point of the Botchan Train.
Most of the major shops in Dogo are concentrated along this street and its surroundings, making it the central hub for tourism flow in Dogo.

Borrow a yukata at the lodging where you stay. From August 3, 2026, to February 28, 2027, Mika Ninagawa-supervised yukata are also available at 11 participating lodgings, only for guests. Sunset in Matsuyama is around 19:20 in early July and after 17:30 in mid-October.

Getting a Numbered Ticket and Finding Places to Wait at Dogo Onsen Honkan and Asuka no Yu When They Are Crowded
Numbered tickets for Dogo Onsen's public baths are issued only when the bathhouse is crowded. Your ticket becomes invalid if you do not arrive within 15 minutes of the call. The official crowd display is updated every 10 minutes. While you wait, you can visit Sora no Sanpomichi, the Hojoen footbath or the Karakuri Clock.
