Obanzai Bar Umegae

"Obanzai Bar Umegae" is a hideaway-style bar located on the first floor of the long-established inn "Yamatoya Honten" in Dogo Onsen, Matsuyama City. In addition to weekly changing obanzai (home-style side dishes), guests can enjoy craft beer, fruit sours using locally produced fruits, and more. There are counter seats with a view of the garden and table seats, allowing guests to spend time having a drink in a calm atmosphere. Operating hours are said to be from Thursday to Saturday, from around 18:30 to 23:30. Close to Dogo Onsen Honkan and Haikara-dori, the location is easy to stop by for a moment during the night after taking a bath. A haiku monument is located in Hojoen, in front of Dogo Onsen Honkan. It commemorates Mori Motengai (1864–1934), a politician and poet who served as the head of Dogo Yunomachi. He studied under Shiki and received the haiku name “Ten-gai.”
