Taisho – Sea Bream & Seafood Specialist
A seafood restaurant near Dogo Onsen Honkan, popular for red sea bream shipped direct from the Shimanami area, Uwajima-style raw sea bream rice, and kamameshi.
This is a specialty restaurant for red sea bream and seafood dishes, located near Dogo Onsen Station. The location is the 1st floor of 15-28 Dogoyuno-cho, situated about a 3-minute walk from Dogo Onsen Station on the Iyo Railway. The restaurant directly purchases fish caught in the fast-flowing Shimanami waters and the warm Iyo-nada Sea, keeps them alive in the in-store fish tank, and prepares them upon order. Its signature dish is Uwajima-style taimeshi, a local dish style in which raw sea bream sashimi is placed on rice with sauce and raw egg. Other fish dishes centered on red sea bream are also available, including grilled sea bream head, tempura, and kamameshi. A dedicated parking lot is also available.
