Jujiya Dogo

Jujiya was a traditional crafts store in Dogo shopping street. It offered handmade products from Ehime, including Tobe ware.

"Jujiya" is a folk art and craft shop located in the Dogo Onsen town (Dogo Yunomachi, Matsuyama City).

Items Handled

The shop handles Ehime handcrafted items, including Tobeyaki ware. Tobeyaki is ceramic ware produced mainly in Tobe Town, Iyo District, Ehime Prefecture, and is designated as an intangible cultural property of Ehime Prefecture, and was designated as a national traditional craft in 1976. It is characterized by patterns hand-painted in Gosu (indigo blue) on somewhat thick white porcelain, and because it is durable and suitable for daily use, many tableware items are produced.
