Funaya
A long-established Dogo ryokan said to have been founded in the Kan'ei era. Natsume Soseki and Masaoka Shiki are said to have stayed here, and it is known for its seasonal garden.
Funaya (Dogo Onsen Funaya) is a long-established ryokan located in Dogo Yunomachi, Matsuyama City. It is said to have been founded during the Kanei era in the early Edo period (first half of the 17th century) and is counted as one of the accommodations with a long history in Dogo Onsen.
It is also known as an ryokan visited by literary figures associated with Dogo, such as Natsume Soseki and Masaoka Shiki, and items conveying their literary connections remain inside the building. The Japanese garden, which incorporates a mountain stream and changes with the four seasons, is famous and creates a calm time during your stay.
It is located within walking distance of the Dogo Onsen Honkan and Dogo Onsen Station, making it convenient as a base for strolling around the hot spring town.
