Mausoleum of Matsudaira Sadayuki
The mausoleum of Matsudaira Sadayuki (1587–1668), the first lord of the Matsuyama Domain, located within the grounds of Joshin-ji Temple. It is a designated historic site of Ehime Prefecture. Sadayuki entered Matsuyama in 1635 (Kan'ei 12) and rebuilt the keep of Matsuyama Castle into three tiers.
The Mausoleum of Matsudaira Sadayuki is a mausoleum located within the precincts of Joshin-ji Temple in Iwaiyadanimachi, Matsuyama City, and is designated as a historical site of Ehime Prefecture.
Matsudaira Sadayuki
Matsudaira Sadayuki (1587–1668) was the first lord of the Iyo-Matsuyama Domain. He was a nephew of Tokugawa Ieyasu and, after serving as the lord of the Totomi-Kakegawa Domain and the Ise-Kuwana Domain, entered Matsuyama in 1635 with a fief of 40,000 koku. It is said that in 1639, he reconstructed the main keep of Matsuyama Castle from five stories to three stories. In his later years, he retired, took the name of Matsuyama (later Katsuyama), spent his days enjoying haikai and tea ceremony, and passed away in 1668.
The mausoleum was built at Joshin-ji Temple, which is associated with the Hisamatsu-Matsudaira family, and continues to convey the history of the domain lord's family to the present day.

A mausoleum in Iwaidani-higashi-machi, Matsuyama, enshrining Matsudaira Sadamasa (1610–1673), the younger brother of Matsudaira Sadayuki, the first lord of the Matsuyama Domain. Sadamasa was stripped of his domain after becoming a Buddhist monk and thereafter lived in Matsuyama.
