Sakai Mokuzen Haiku Monument (Iwaidani Community Center)
A haiku monument for Sakai Mokuzen at the Iwaidani branch of the Dogo Community Center in Iwaidani. It bears the verse "Shunko ya sanbyaku-nen no shiro no kei" and was unveiled in 1962 (Showa 37).
The Sakai Mokuzen Haiku Monument in front of Iwaidani Community Center is a haiku monument located at the Dogo Community Center Iwaidani Branch in Iwaidani 5-chome, Matsuyama City. Inscribed with the haiku "Shunko ya sanbyakunen no shiro no kei," it was unveiled on March 15, 1962.
Sakai Mokuzen was a haiku poet associated with Matsuyama who also brushed the calligraphy for the Kobayashi Issa Haiku Monument at the north entrance of Dogo Park. These haiku monuments are recorded in "Ehime no Kuhi" by the Matsuyama Municipal Shiki Memorial Museum. There is also a Mokuzen haiku monument on the approach to Matsuyama Shrine in Iwaidani Higashimachi.
Matsuyama is known as a "City of Haiku" that produced many haiku poets, including Masaoka Shiki, and haiku monuments are dotted throughout the city. In the Iwaidani area, you can visit this monument along with the haiku monument on the approach to Matsuyama Shrine on foot.

The grounds contain the mausoleum of Matsudaira Sadayuki, a designated Ehime Prefecture historic site.

Yamanobe Honten
An outlet of the Yamanobe group of kappo restaurants, in Iwaidani, Matsuyama. It serves omakase kaiseki and lunch kaiseki using seasonal ingredients, and unaju made with domestic eel. It is in an area close to Dogo.
Iwaidani 1-chome Park
A small park ideal for a baby's or toddler's first park outing. It has a sandpit edged with urethane and spring-mounted playground rides shaped like a chick and a rabbit.
