The Sakai Mokunen Haiku Monument in Iwazeki Playground is a haiku monument located in the Iwazeki area of Ishite, Matsuyama City. It is one of the haiku monuments scattered across the city, inscribed with a haiku by Mokunen Sakai, a haiku poet associated with Matsuyama.
Matsuyama is known as a "haiku city" that produced many haiku poets including Shiki Masaoka, and such haiku monuments remain in various locations. It can be visited in conjunction with strolls to Ishiteji Temple or Dogo.
