Nishioka Kashiho

Nishioka Kashiho

A Japanese confectionery shop in Dogo-Ichiman, known for Tsurunoko: a fluffy egg-white cake filled with yolk cream.

A Japanese confectionery (wagashi) shop in Dogo-Ichiman. The Mapple travel guide introduces it as the maker of the original “Tsurunoko,” a sweet in which a fluffy cake made to look like egg white wraps a yolk-colored cream. The same listing also mentions seasonal fresh sweets and dry sweets, and says the shop is about a 5-minute walk from Minamimachi stop on the Iyotetsu tram.

Photos taken by a local contributor in October 2026 show the “Wagashi-tsukasa Nishioka Kashiho” sign, a noren curtain with a crane drawing and the word “Tsurunoko,” a “Seasonal wagashi” sign and a poster for kuri-kinton (chestnut sweets). The Mapple listing gives hours of 9:00–17:00, but its date is unknown, so this page does not treat the hours or closing days as confirmed. Check prices and opening days at the shop.
